I've
been driving for 5 years now and im on my 3rd BX. Before the BX's
I had a Dyane which was lovely and has now gone to "classic2cv"
from the BX forum.
Well, my car is a Mk1 BX19GT and the purchase of it off ebay back
in
November 2005 was one of those rushed 2 minutes of madness times.
My friend
was browsing ebay looking for a sensible BX TZD for me as thats
what I was
after, when he stumbled accross the GT in the last 10 minutes of
its
auction. It seemed like a possibly stupid purchase as the head gasket
had
gone, but for some reason I beleived my friend when he said, "
all it needs
is a head gasket, you can do that". Well, about 3 months and
a million cuts
and bruses later, I had reverted to putting a replacement engine
in the car
from a very scruffy BX TRS with the same 1905cc 105 bhp engine.
Its turned
out to be the best BX ive owned, having covered only 45,000 miles
from new
under the same ownership. The guy who sold it to me was a PSA dealer
who
worked at a garage where the BX failed its MOT due to the head gasket
not
allowing the test to continue. He bought the car off the guy who
had owned
it for 19 years since new. I thought it was about time I put my
car up on
the members cars area, and I would also like to say how much the
club has
helped me out with getting my BX running. I really would have struggled
without all the help and my car might not be mobile without the
club. Keep
up the good work.
