Exhaust Systems

Post by Pogo »

What are the differences between exhaust systems between the various models.
I think I need a new back box because there is a rattle which I think is a loose baffle.
Are all the rear boxes the same?, the pictures all look pretty much the same.
Obviously I want the rear box for the GTI, but it appears to me the diesels use the same exhaust, is this right?

With the exception of the front pipes, i believe there are essentially only 2 basic systems:

Flanged: 1900 petrols & TD's
Sleeved: N/A-D's & 1600 petrols.

I'm not sure of the bore diameter on the 1400s but they are the sleeved type.

So, yes, TD & GTI are the same except for possibly the front pipe.
I have zero patience for your tedium.
