Part of the problem is it doesn't look good. It looks like a shed which will but Joe average off. They like cheap cars but not if they look poor.
Then when you mention rusty door pillars, oil leaks, starting problems it becomes undesirable to mr average.

Oops  forgot about that thread haha

I must say I'm quite surprised but the condition of it, I nearly went up to view it when it had the speedlines on earlier in the year but then one came up for sale locally so didn't go in the end.

Have to wonder about the new MOT if he's quoting welding needed for the next one already!

Do we think this one will be a rust bucket? Some of that rust does look like it's coming from the insides of the surfaces. Shame, it's quite cheap :)

Sold! To the man with that cannot think of a witty remark to follow 'the man'. Bit of a fail really... Oh well, should hopefully be an economical daily, my dad will be busy with a few bits of welding in the new year I think :D Not sure when i'm collecting, but it'll more than likely be after Christmas, seeming as my next day off is Christmas eve (last day off was in November sometime, can't remember :( )

Ta, yours is a much nicer colour though! Can't wait to go and get it. Have you ever worked out what kind of mpg you get?

Just found a scrap of paper from when I first got the car with 52.46mpg on it but I think that was mainly motorway miles. Clio used to do 42/43ish or so the onboard trip told me :---)

My TXD Turbo is doing 54mpg on a run. I'm very impressed. So unusual to have a car where I can fill the fuel tank in Sussex (where Mothman lives actually), drive back to mid-Wales, and have a couple of weeks of driving around before having to fill up again!

I too am amazed at how frugal they are, again filling up in Looe and then driving around here for weeks on end without having to fill up again. And, the performance is damned good too. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with it Tom.
