Green TZD estate, Sheffield

Post by morningglory »

Been seeing a nice, dark green TZD estate cruising around north Sheffield recently, but I've been mainly seeing it from the inside!

Saw it on carandclassic then saw it on here too http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18179" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Ended up paying £1700 which I was very happy with.

My first Citroen and my first post on bxclub. I've just had the spheres and hydraflush done by Doug at Westroen http://www.westroen-spheres.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I can't rate his price and service highly enough.

Given it a basic service and I can't see any rust (need to properly get under it though). Next stop; cambelt, then maybe some rust-proofing.

I've been after a BX for a long time and it doesn't disappoint!

Cheers,
Joe

Well done fella'! I think this miserable lot cast their jaded eye over it, and it was generally agreed that it must be one of the nicest estates still left on the road. Congrats once again and welcome! 8)

Cheers, chaps (and chapesses?). Nice welcome.

I'm in Grenoside. I see a white BX at work (Aviva) sometimes and used to see a couple in the car park when I worked for Sheffield Community Transport.

Now, anyone know the next local meet of some description? I missed one in June in Hope which I usually go to with my Dad and the big Citroen club which was only last weekend!

Hi and welcome.

When you get underneath to check for rust, have a good poke round the rear subframe mounts and rear cross member, also the rear exhaust hangar although if the condition of the rest is anything to go by they shouldn't be a problem - most of the other bits that tend to go (other than under the washer bottles) can usually be found by walking round the car and opening the doors and bonnet.

While under there I'd also clear any muck off the top of the rear cross member at either end, and off the extra fuel tank in the rear wing, as they seem favorite damp traps for starting the rot.

£43 a month to park here?! Chuff me. I only earn 10p a month more than that. I park on Sharrow Lane.

Good to know there's a few people from round-a-bout. Might have a gander at the thing at Meadow Farm in a couple of weeks. Is it mainly modded cars and boy racers though?

My cousin's got an inspection pit so I'll have a good poke around underneath - ta muchly for the advice. Think this forum has everything covered. Gonna delve more into fiddling with the suspension.....

Anyone know who the guy is who works for SCT? Always a couple of BXs in their car park anyway.

Its going very nicely. Drive to work once, maybe twice a week, plus odd errands, but mainly use it for long runs at the weekends which it likes. Not missed a beat.

Suspension is cushty - it rides like a lilo at a Spanish resort. I'm just new to it all and wondering if there's anything more that could be done on strusts, arms, bushes etc.
