£1000 without MoT? Pushing it a bit for me, but I reckon I'd go to £750 on it. Factory A/C and factory leather on a valver means it'll have heated seats, which are rare as feck. I love the ph2 in white, too. Nice and original, and engine bay free of clutter.
Rust appearing (could be dirt) at the top of the NS A-pillar concerns me a bit, but you know it'll need the same money throwing at it to get it on the road. Still, with a similar car up for £2800 in Glasgow, you never know.

I know one thing though - once I'd got it I'd line those mats up under the front wheels, build the revs to 4000rpm and drop the clutch

Really? Never heard mention of these on a UK car! (But you've p?r?o?b?a?b?l?y? definitely got more 16v info than I have ) Half tempting to buy it, swap the seats, MOT it and sell it on. If I had a grand doing nothing...

If it was closer i'd be having a look at that. Bit of an unknown quantity regarding corrosion which is the worry. Lot of work done to it then stopped, always seems a little funny to me.

Well that's an opportunity lost for you then, because you'd get £400-£500 for all the bits on it (maybe more). And then the scrap money for the shell. So if you buy it and find it doesn't need much to get through an MoT, you're laughing. And if it does need a bit, you break it and get your money back (or most of it). Some mk1s aside, there aren't any other BXs you can easily do that with.

You're probably right Kitch and if I was after a valver, ticket or not wouldn't really bother me - I'd make up my own mind, but the market in general won't pay good money for old French cars without a ticket. Although, I certainly don't think no MOT equals scrap - where valvers are concerned, there's a lot of interest in very few cars now. At face value, I'd have thought 750 was about right for that car. Obviously if he chucks in those lovely mats . . . consideraby more.

I actually thought £750 myself, or pushing to £800 if it's good in the flesh. That said, if you find there's no rot under it, then it's worth the full £1k IMO.

The leather and a/c system are probably worth best part of £400? plus the wheels at £100 or so, and a low mileage mi16 is still going to fetch £300? so your up to £800 already.

I scrapped a shagged Polo earlier today as it wasnt worth auctioning and got £115 per tonne..... so you could break it probably and make money.

I've bought 14 16V's over the years and never seen that in the flesh.

Where is the switch mounted for the heated seats?
