That is nice. Just a change from the greys and silvers and I'm sure it would clean nice.

Good spot Tim.

So it's guess the paint code time... again :D My initial thought was Furio red ? But then I thought that Furio may not have come in before 1991 so I went to check.

Is it me - or are search engines becoming more stupid than ever ?

Anyway I eventually came across this list...

http://www.vernicispray.es/124302169100 ... c-meye.jsp

which lists Rouge Furio as being available from 1987 to 1993 - so it could be Furio Red !

Paint code connoisseurs will also notice that the code for Furio Red is EJX - the same code that is writ on the inside wing of my BX - which is Venetian Red.

In my travels through Google UK I also came across the Haynes manual hosted by us...

http://www.bxclub.com/storage/haynes_bx.pdf

which is useful: and also this interesting flyer which I don't think I've seen before...

http://website.lineone.net/~oystercatch ... _small.pdf

And I also came across this rubbish courtesy of the BeeB...

Furio Red and Venetian Red are the same colour
Nope ! Furio red is darker than Venetian red - frustratingly they share the same paint code. If it's any comfort, Malcolm doesn't believe me either, but believe me - if you use Furio red touch-up on a Venetian red car it really looks a mess - just like mine used to look before I found that out !

Vanny's 16v IIRC is Venetian red - but it's a different colour to mine (mine has 'Venetian Red' written by hand in the original owners manual). IIRC Vanny has the advantage that in addition to the EJX he has some extra characters which denote the shade variation...

http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/thre ... int.47279/

mentions Ford Diamond White. I've had 2 Granadas in Diamond White and they were both of the shade that blinds you when you wash them and seems to positively glow late on a summer's evening - but... there is a vaiant of Diamond White that is significantly darker than your Blanc Crémant BX !

If it were closer to home I may have been tempted, but I've no idea where I'd keep it though!

Spent almost the cost of that, on a new rear screen........thanks to the local oik. Locals want me to 'move' my other one with no front subframe as it is lowering the tone of the neighbourhood. So I invited them to pull and push it up a 12 foot height slope....no engine/box so should be easy? Only about 700Kg. It took 5 adults and a dinghy trolley to get the 250Kg stove up the slope. They don't seem too keen on trying....

Suddenly it all makes sense. My Ven Red ph1 has a Furio Red door on! Damn it, now I'm going to have to look for a Ven Red OSR door...

The first pic in this thread...

http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15779

looks fairly close to Furio red if the pic's colour rendition is good.

I found that Halford's rattle can Venetian red was pretty close to my BX but still not exact - might be easier to respray but find a paint supplier who knows what he's doing first.
