Mk1 19RD

Email come through to me from the CCC, Mk1 white 19RD, no MOT, no brakes or spheres, missing drivers window, rear lights etc, failed its MOT a few years back but engine and box are good. Been sat ever since. No V5C either.

The guy that owns it wants scrap value for it, hes a back yard mechanic who was left the car when it failed its MOT

Its rare being a Mk1 19RD but even so, think this one is too far gone.

Would anyone take it on really? I would love to think so, its got no brakes, or spheres, the drivers windows been down for 3 years and its an MOT fail.

Bloody hell, he wants scrap price for that heap, he clearly wants someone to dig the bugger out to save himself the hassle. I thought it might have been under cover, but with that window having been missing for 3yrs, its gotta be totally fucked, why do people do this????

I know, a cover would have helped, hes pinched the window for another car.

It may provide some useful spares that are specific to mk1's, or someone who really wants a challenge to get that back onto the road. The description of what's wrong didnt actually sound that bad or expensive, but a replacement interior etc i think puts it beyond any economical repair & that's before knowing what it failed on 3yrs ago. Is this the winter project that you've now passed on (you did mention a white car?).

All I know is its a G reg so will be a Mk2.

Is that a big letter 'D' over the fuel filler flap to remind the driver to fill up with diesel or is a hole/rust ?
