Wow well spotted, I was in Lancaster R, " needs an MOT and Hoover and a dust" don't you think they would do that before selling!

Yes probably, but it doesn't have them does it? :D

After 6 years I imagine it'll need quite a bit... like exhaust and so on. Not to mention rust dealing with. We know what Hurricanes can be like at the best of times.

it looks a bit scruffy for 13k!

I brought a 185,000 mile XM out of five year hibernation that was genuinely cleaner and tidier than that!

Stands back in amazement! 13,500 miles - that's delivery miles innit? It did appear to need a wash and brush up though. If I was flogging it I'd have gone on a two day valetathon, stood it on a marble pedestal and hired a brass band to play the Marseillaise everytime I had a prospective buyer.

I would be a bit worried about an engine that old with so few miles that looks like it's hardly ever got up to operating temperature - I don't know that much about how BXs actually work, but in my experience it's use 'em or lose 'em.

Is it worth 1700 quid? - the sordid topic of coin  For a totally original BX, fully historied in pristine condition with 13,500 genuine miles on the clock and a years T&T - I'd pay that if I had the dosh (which I havn't). I'd even move to a bigger house so it could have its own bedroom :D

It states 13,500 miles on the clock...call me cynical but I'm always slightly suspicious of that wording unless backed up by history AND condition. If I was selling it, (aside from giving it a clean!) I would make a big deal of any proof of that sort of mileage.

And if that looks like new inside, then mine looks better than new with over 200k miles on it!

But anyway, if I was spending that sort of money I'd go and see it first and judge for myself, it may well be completely genuine and just not advertised especially well.

Wheres our man in Lancaster Mark? aka Mds141 to go take a look?

Come on guys lets not be too hard, this is a desirable spec car with 13500 miles on the clock, a full valet would make a huge difference yes but lets look past the dirt and see what is a diamond in the rough, it needs to be sold to a BX enthusiast!

Its a TZD Turbo (the one that most people want/like) with the same mileage as a year old Focus for less than £2000? A bargain I think!

I'd be vary wary of a car that age with that sort of mileage thats not moved in quite a few years. The price is a joke tbh, it could cost a shed load of money to sort out everything thats rusted/seized solid. If it was on the road, had 12mths test & a recent cambelt etc... then it might be worth a bit over a grand, but as it stands he'll be keeping it for another 6yrs unless an absolute diehard fan wants it.

I too find it strange that if the owner believes he can make a reasonable sum, he does not get a valet, tyres & an MOT.

Then, as Phil says, it probably would be worth £1700.

Has it been stored in the dry? If it was parked on grass for years it could be very rusty beneath.

I've had another look at those pictures and I'm not quite so convinced about that car. Perhaps it's just the picture but the interior looks a bit too 'tired' for 13,500 miles (particularly the steering wheel and drivers seat) the rear bumpers will need refurbishing as they're covered in parking 'dings' and the splitters missing. If it's been parked outside for 6 years ( as it looks like it has by the condition of the black work and the wiper blades/arms) it will be interesting to see what state the lacquer is in when it gets a polish.

Yes a very sought after model/spec. but I agree with Paul /\ !

It's not 100% genuine with out the front splitter (May have been in a shunt) so if anyone goes to view, this needs looking at/questioned at this sort of money ?

Also I'd say it's been stored/stood exactly where the photo been taken as you can just make out the Green algae growth on the front and rear bumper below the the Black bumper inserts, so it being a Hurricane it will need a good appraisal of the condition of the body so as not to get any surprises.
i.e. the box section that's spot welded across the rear of the body panel (behind the rear bumper) you should be able just to see the ends just below the rear lamp unit's from below the bumper !

Best of luck to who may secure this one.

:)
