Hydraulic pump BX 1990

Post by Mike Holdstock »

I have a rather noisy, if still functioning, hydraulic pump on my otherwise still fun to drive blue metallic LHD 1990 19TRI.
So strategy 1 is to find a replacement although a not very extensive internet search suggests they are getting hard to come by. Anyone know better ?
Strategy 2 is to wonder what to do about the squeak. The believable milometer says only about 120000km - so this an age problem, not a mileage problem.

Some do get noisy. After 30+ years who is complaining. There is a company here that will recondition them, Pleiades.

As Jaba said, your best bet would be to send it off to Pleiades & have it rebuilt. They rebuilt mine around a year ago & it's been Ok since.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your advice and the positive reference to Plaiedes.
I'm planning on using their recon service.
Since I need to move the car a bit I've sourced a local enthusiast with a couple of serviceable pumps on his shelf and will borrow one while waiting for the Pl service om mine.
