Hi
Stewart Hyde here alias oilyspanner
Great idea having a BX register, here is a more detailed rundown
of my car, its a 1993 TZD bought on Ebay in Jan 04 for £152
with short MOT and 42K on the clock!, failed Head gasket, slipping
clutch and some other problems, first move was to remove the drivepack,
I had just acquired a known healthy 1.9TD motor from a dead peugeot,
I swapped the flywheel, fitted a new clutch, octopus. coolant hoses
on rear of block, cambelt and installed the engine, the only modifications
were to the camshaft, the end of which was drilled and tapped to
take a bored out BX pulley in order to drive the HP pump, an oil
seal was also fitted, faults and replacements in time order
both front wheel bearings
Front pads
one handbrake cable
Graphite alloys
Boost and temp gauges
TD front spheres
Offside drop link
Acc sphere
FDV replaced
rear arm bearings Nearside inc grease nipple
16 valve rear spheres
Strip and clean rear calipers
hydrafush
Impretza type bonnet scoop (old boy racer) to improve intercooler
efficiency
The car has now covered 11000 miles in this form and has proved
comfortable and reliable though I have not got around to boosting
the fuelling/turbo performance is adequate and motorway cruising
a pleasure, I would certainly consider fitment of the 1.9 unit again.
