Notice of Forum Maintenance 29/05/2017 and End of Support for Tapatalk - Completed
Next Monday, 29/05/2017 I will be taking this forum off-line to move it to a new server.
As part of the server transfer, all the operating system and support software will be upgraded to latest versions and the phpBB forum software will have a major upgrade to V3.2.0.
As one of the measures to improve the ongoing security of the site, the Tapatalk interface will be permanently disabled from that date. We realise that this will cause upset to the few users who still use Tapatalk as their primary means of access to the forum, but unfortunately Tapatalk is (technically and through business practices) too much of a risk to the security of our databases and member confidentiality. Note that Tapatalk was originally added to the forum because at that time it was the only sensible means of using the forum on a small-screen device, such as a phone. For some time now, the forum software itself has included adaptive formatting so that it is convenient to view and use the forum in any web browser.
The site will be off-line from approximately 7:00 am (BST). All going well, it should be back on-line by 3:00 pm.

I never realised it had built in compatibility for small screens. Do you have to set anything up or just login through a browser?

Just login with any modern browser.
If you have a PC browser and un-maximise the window, then drag it smaller, you will see the display format adjusting. The smallest window that you get on a PC browser is the same as you get on a phone in portrait mode. In Lansdcape mode, depending on your phone, you might get something closer to the PC experience.

Looks crazy! Icons repeated hundreds of times and all drop down menus opened up and getting in the way!

If you have a problem like that, clear your browser cache for this site. hit ctrl-f5 on a PC, or find the menu option in the browser on a device without a keyboard.
The problem is because your browser had cached some elements of the site with the old software version, which need to be cleared for the new version to display properly.

If you are seeing strange icons all over the forum, then you need to clear your browser cache.
To do this on any browser on a PC press the Ctrl key simultaneously with the f5 key.
On any browser, including on IOS, and Android operating systems, there will be a menu item to clear the cache, or delete browser history.
