update on the crap caravan saga.

some of you know I bought a caravan last September,
the seller agreed to deliver it after I paid a deposit of £1,300 balance on delivery.
it was bought unseen ( yes I know ) but it was agreed that, under the distance selling laws, that if it did not match its description I could return it and have a full refund of my deposit ( see not so silly)

well it arrived and was shit on wheels ,
filthy dirty,
oven door broken,
fridge door broken,
sealant dried out, cracked and in some places missing,
battery missing,
windows cracked,
window stays broken,
mains hook up lead repaired and covered with a black plastic bag to hide repair .
the list was endless.

I told the guy to have it back and despite the agreement didn't receive my deposit back.
months of letters toing and froing later we took him to court.

First he told the court he was nothing to do with the company and that they were selling it for him as a favour.
He admitted he owed us the money and offered to pay back at £40.00 a month which would take 3 years.

We refused to accept that and sent proof that he was indeed the proprietor of the company and had lied to the court
His personal facebook page has loads of pictures of the company h.q. , vehicles they are selling etc,
his partner is the office manager and his name was on adverts placed in a local newspaper as the contact for stuff they were selling .

it went back to court two weeks ago (just after he got back from a holiday in Turkey )

we have received a letter today saying that his offer of payment has been thrown out and the whole amount is payable forthwith.
basically it means the bailiffs will now go in if he dosent pay up.

Its been a long battle but there is now light at the end of the tunnel .

We tried everything to resolve the situation amicably.

The guy in question is a Mike Baker
proprietor of new 2 you Eardisley Herefordshire

and heres his personal facebook page

https://www.facebook.com/mike.baker.353803?fref=ts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I know another member here had a better experience with this company .
all I would say is , be careful

Slowly getting our money back from the dodgy caravan and currently have two vans.
We are selling the lunar as we were lucky enough to pick up a beautiful German Eiffeland 6 berth that had only had two weeks use in the last 7 year's.

The trajet sailed through its mot last week and the Volvo is still giving sterling service but may be replaced by something smaller.
Oh and we have a Citroen in the family again in the shape of a 1.1 ax

Oh and those at the X rally already know that I have finally succumb to walking with a stick due to my back and hip issues.
Only 5 years to wait for a hip replacement but the back is buggered due to degenerative disc disorder

I must admit, my personal experience with 'New2You' was entirely positive. He even helped me with the wiring on the BX. Just luck of the draw I suppose. Glad you've got it all sorted now Mick. :-)
