Weak Interior Blower

Post by kiwi »

Ok chaps! Down here in NZ it got hot and I have discovered something that a long drive made life a bit uncomfortable and well with Winter and wet days not a good combination either.

My trusty TXD Fan has become weak! It was intermittent now its very weak and ironically discovered the same think in the TRS as well however the Aircon Auto TZS has a nice strong fan.

So where do I start looking? I was thinking the dial? as it dont feel as clunky going into the positions but if you put a little pressure on it then it sort increases a bit? Wearing out?

Just confuse myself I found the thread about the PCB and relays etc which now completely got my head spinning.

Anyone got any bypass suggestions or fixes to look at?

Hi, Mine was a bit like that, I would need to rota the control a few time till the fan worked, I had it all apart while changing dash light and cleaned it with switch clean the lumb bits have gone and the fan is get faster the more its turned on.

It never worked so well in my time, hope this is some help.

I reckon that is probably what it is womble! I bypassed the fan got direct so can rule out the fan motor.

Nope scrap that! I took the think apart even changed the PCB board with a spare one and no change! Well there was one change when I lost that little washer thats stuck behind the white thing. Note to anyone dismantling do not lose that.

Typical hot time the year just kicked in and no cooling breeze to blast through.

It could be the transister/resistor thing that is mounted in the fan duct, might be worth pulling that out and maybe resoldering the pcb in case of dry joints. The only other thing that comes to mind is the resistor mounted under the steering wheel
They think it's all over, it is now!
