Long nosed bonnet on 1.8TD

Post by assembled »

Hi,
I want to have a long nosed bonnet on my TZD Turbo due to reasons.

As it has top mounted IC and internal duct, how significant is that extra gap? I realize it helps, but just how much? I am also planning to increase turbo pressure a little and already did some tweaking to fuel pump so intercooler and radiator performance is quite important. I can just add an extra temperature sensors or manifold pressure sensor to start front fans when necessary as they are mounted so that lots of air flow goes up and to the intercooler.

Any thoughts, experiences?

You don't need much intercooling while standing on traffic light or driving urban, on road you get more airflow naturally than with fans. But try it out, otherwise the rest of us will never know ;) !

It was built that was for a reason, I personally wouldn't bother.

Doesn't make a huge amount of sense, but then you could always fit a FMI an remove the issues entirely.
