Welcome back sir!
I cant do a picture right now, but if no-one else has by tonight I'll bung one on.

It's easy to find though, assuming you have a Lucas CAV pump, which I think you have!
If you open the bonnet, look at the engine, the alternator is on your left, at the front of the engine, above it and slightley rearward of it is the inj. pump. At the right hand end (again, as you look at it) of the pump are four metal pipes that go to the injectors.
Above these pipes, where they leave the pump, is the stop solonoid, easy to locate as it has a wire going to it attached to the solonoid with an 8mm nut.
Happily with the Lucas pump it's a simple task of unscrewing old solonoid, and screwing in a new one.
The Bosch pump is a tad more difficult to get at.
Hope that helps, and great to have you back!

Good to see ya back on here again Dean!! :D

Also great to hear that your Burgundy Beauty is still giving good (?) service!! Nice motor, that!

I've got a spare stop solenoid somewhere lying around, but I think it's off a Bosch pump. I've no f***ing idea if they are interchangeable, but if you're really struggling to find the correct one, you're welcome to it!

Missed those luvverly pork pies 'n pickle at Huntingdon this year.

Dave

Hi again Dean
Don't think it's the solenoid - see my post on the "Other Side" ;)

Dean / Barnsley I can reactivate your old account if you like? Well I say reactivete, its merely giving it a new password, which you then change to something more memorable....
