FOC BX Haynes Manual

Post by Des Smith »

I've just been gifted a BX Haynes manual by a kind soul so I now have two! I can't imagine too many forum members don't already have one, but if you want my spare, it's yours for the cost of the postage.

Bump again. This manual covers the following petrol models 1983-87:

BX, BX14, BX14 E, BX14 RE and Leader
BX16 RS and BX16 TRS hatch and BX16 estate
BX19GT, BX19 TRS estate

It covers the 1360cc (150), 1580cc (171) and 1905cc (159) engines. As it only goes to 1987, this is better for Mark 1 BX models, but the supplement chapter does cover Mark 1 modifications and the Mark 2 models launched in 1986-87 such as the BX16 RE hatch, BX19 GTi, BX19 TRS hatch and TRS auto estate

It doesn't cover the BX14 Mark 2 models fitted with the later 1360cc TU engine and any of the revamped models introduced after 1987.

It's in reasonable condition and certainly good enough to hang around as a ready reference in the garage. Yours for the cost of postage, otherwise it'll end up being recycled.

PM me if you are interested.

Thanks in advance

Steve, because its rather heavy it's probably going to be too expensive to be worth your while to ship to Germany. The cheapest is Hermes, who want £7.00, and the best Royal Mail price is £9.85. Both would take ~5 days. Let me know what you think.

For your info the Haynes can be downloaded from a Russian site. It is in English despite the Index page being in random order and in Cyrillic.

Actually, even the most expensive postage option given is about twice the cost of a new one before they became unavailable at the shops. Of course the latest manual had the blue cover and I assume your one is the earlier brown cover. On the plus side though, the brown manual had better quality paper & photographs!

Hey Des!

I look at it like "Way2go" do - its not available anymore (at least not here), and if you don't need it because you already have one, there is no problem for me with shipping cost. I think 7 GBP (i don't have that Pfunds-Key on my keyboard :D ), thats 8 EUR, thats the price for a box of cigarettes... which would not be as helpful anyway! :D Plus its a nice sidekick to get a haynes book from england from a former bx owner. :)

If you use paypal, let me know, via PM would be nice (i have trouble with seeing new posts here, idk why).
Thank you in advance!

Btw, thanks Jaba for the link - its quite useful, but Des' printed version would be availabe in my garage too. Even without internet. And electricity. :D

Keep crusing, everyone
