My Cars: citroen bx 19rd (now sold)
citroen bx 17tgd turbo repairs ongoing. (gone to the scrapyard in the sky)
citroen cx familiale awaiting possible restoration. (rotted away)
citroen bx 14 re. this ones a beauty.

can anyone tell me, will 15" peugeot 206 alloys go straight on my 1991 bx 17 tgd.

They should do yes. Just check for clearance, plus as it's a 17TGD it may not have power steering so fitting wider wheels may make it heavy.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

thanks. do you know of any thinner alloys that will fit or perhaps i will just get the steelies powder coated or done up.

Personal choice, 205 Gti's fit straight on and can look good, I prefer the stock look but a nice set of rims can looks much better than rusty steels.

206 alloys usually have a bigger offset, so sit inside the arch a bit too much

I would suggest the early C5 'steelies' which are aluminium though look like steels and weigh half the weight of a 16V alloy and have the correct offset.

They are noticeably thicker than steel wheels and there are two versions – ones which take wheel bolts with flat captive washers and ones which use wheel bolts with a taper. As I understand it the ones for wheel bolts with flat captive washers were prone to cracking…

I guess the only downside is they still look like steelies! Be good for track cars though.
