Anyone want some used spheres?

Post by morningglory »

Just changed all my spheres and don't really know what to do with the old ones. Anyone interested?

Postage will be about £25 then how much are they worth on top of that?!

They're a bit flat but not bad (4 years/20k miles). Not got a pressure tester but thought someone might have recharging equipment. Can't see what else to do with them except bin them or weigh them in (huge, garage door knobs? weird robot boobs?). Got the accumulator as well but I'm pretty sure that's kaput.

Ta,

Joe

Sorry mate but I think they're fit for the recycling. New spheres aren't that much really.

Agreed with Tim, I have untold dead spheres in my garage not much use to anyone really, cheap enough to replace and bin the old ones, sometimes even cheaper to buy new than have the old ones re-gassed.

No worries, personally I only ever fit new spheres from the sphere shop, £120 for all 5?delivered isn't bad value and they're top quality.

They provide damping in your suspension.

In theory your 1.4 has slightly different sized spheres at the front to most other BXs, but dont worry, it doesn't make a huge difference.

If your ride is hard, then you need new spheres. They can sometimes be recharged.

For original spheres there's a constant need at me ;) The aftermarket are not always the thing, like for Xantia they don't have all spheres available anymore, just a couple of variants that fit all models. So always searching after those "long" BX estate spheres here, they work wonderfull in a Xantia (and Xantia HA2 spheres in a C5)! My neighbour has also recharging equipment so I can adjust the ride by overgassing the spheres 10-25% over the factory setting.

hey James! tbh my ride's great, well for all 100m that i drove it for to land it at the bottom of my mates drive, and the adjustableness is all good too! :)

Yo Tim. I have checked out the sphereshop for 4 spheres and the price to me here in France today is 120EUR plus delivery ( 15 to France 19 to GB). Can you check and verify the GBP price you have quoted.
I need to order some for my GTi in the spring and from what you have said it would be better to order in the UK.

120 eur is 106 gbp at current exchange rate, i could well believe that at the time of buying that was about the price
