Not true. Just own several classic cars and you're laughing! My H-reg BX is on my classic policy along with my 2CV. In fact, the 2CV has been my only car at times, and I've never had a problem with insurance, though I have expressely been told that the 'must have another car' thing does apply if you have one classic. (maybe they just ignored that for me? Was a few years ago).

My insurance policy is unlimited mileage with business use and all the usual goodies. Costs me less than £135pa. I don't own a modern car and now I have no NCD, I can never afford to again!

I've just got the renewal notice for my BX14, so I'm trawling for quotes - this is a 1990 car that is everyday transport with fully comp. insurance (I find it usually cheaper that way):-

Lancaster - £194 (who I'm with at the moment)
Footman James - £435 (almost twice what I paid for the car!)

I'm also awaiting quotes from Adrian Flux & NFU Mutual.

I know that for a daily driver I can probably get cheaper elsewhere, but I'm hoping that one of the above (I know NFU probably will) will do a collection policy with the BX as the GS will be shortly back on the road, & I hope to have the ripple on the road in the spring.

I'll try a couple of others mentioned both here and elsewhere & see what happens.

Interestingly, I've found in the past that while there are companies willing to do collection policies, they tend to baulk when I mention Land Rovers. NFU tell me this is due to Landies being regarded as commercial vehicles & the worry that they may be used as such (although who'd want to use a series 1 for business I don't know, simply due to the parts prices for them these days!)
