Ken:
Mine leaked something rotten through the rear windscreen - I used to keep it under a flyover, in fact, in an attempt to keep the rain off it! It was rusty, had dreadful electrics, drank like a fish, and was unreliable.
And I loved every second I spent with it. I even liked working on it - except that every time I did, I'd find more rust! That's a car I'd own again, if I had the money.
My BX is a far superior car for the use it's getting, but I just wish it had a C-matic box, and DIRAVI steering...... and those looks. Awesome.
Tim, you just DON'T wash a CX, in fact you try to keep it as far from water as possible.

And I wasn't trying to gloat... it was more the amazement that there was even the question of it being crushed. Aparently it was to "deny the CCC of a source of parts....."
this might be a signature

While I was driving the LHD BX Mk1 back from Swindon, for some un-accountable reason, I kept getting the urge to drive it C-matic style, without using the clutch pedal...
I wonder what a BX C-matic would have been like had they made one...? Surely they would have had to have given it 4 cogs to play with though instead of a measley 3.
Yeah, same as a GS, you don't wash a CX. I went to view a GS that had been outside for some time, and I just imagined what all that accumulated leaf and crap debris under the edges of the bonnet, in the bulkhead drain and collected in every other bloody crevice would do when combined with copious amounts of water from a jetwash! Cos that's the urge isn't it - you buy a mucky car that's been standing and immediately douse it with gallons of soapy water to clean it all off....
Mark.

If you have planty of money you could try Roger Bradford's CX centre. Nice cars, proper prices. He is a top CX man though if a little eccentric
