Hi Stuart, glad you got back OK. I'm afraid I have to put you straight on a few points though - the MOT is definitely until next October, and at the time of listing on eBay was for 13 months. I made sure I timed the MOT test just under a month before the old one expired.
The amount of fuel is shown in this photo from the eBay advert, and the only driving I did was a test run the night before collection (as it had been sat unused for several months apart from the short trip to the MOT station). I wanted to make sure there were no problems for you, and put in an extra gallon of fuel afterwards. The mileage at the time of collection was 40902, so an extra gallon should have covered it.
Is the gauge working smoothly? It's not unknown for them to move from one position on the gauge to another faster than the actual fuel level is going down.
What is the problem with the indicators? I feel bad it's developed a fault so soon.
Probably just blown a bulb Mat, wouldn't worry yourself too much. It is a lovely looking car. Wouldn't have minded it myself but lack of £'s precluded it.

Welcome Stuart but yes definitley nick picking there Mate, as Mat has said the fuel gauges are notoriously fluctuant and even if there had only been 12 months ticket (which there clearly isn't) it is hardly a cause for complaint is it?

Well, As Mat knows, I would have bought it apart from personal circumstances made collection impossible , I would have said this is the best example of a BX estate to be offerred for sale for a very long time and from a very highly respected and knowlegable member of this forum, its a testamony to Mat and the car that it has covered over 800 miles with nothing more than an indicator fault already. I would have loved the benefit of the excellant mpg it gives for my1000 mile plus a month commute and would have been completely satisfied and safe in the knowledge that this car was as near perfect as your likely to find these days bearing in mind its age. Enjoy the car Stuart

Are you really called Sherlock Holmes as isn't that also the name of that film about detecting and stuff? I think you got yourself a right nice wagon there from a real gent. Worth the price just for those wheel trims. I think they're the best ones available. If anyone knows of any going spare?
