Couldn't resist pushing it up over £1000 after you said that! Would have happily paid it - I've seen some very boring ZX's being asked for around the same for higher mileage too - but also think it will go a fair bit higher.

Amazing, just a few years ago that would have struggled to reach £500. I picked up my 79k TXD just under 6yrs ago for £260, so prices would appear to have risen quite a bit, not sure whether that is good or bad tbh, i might be getting priced out if i want another one :(

In general I'd have to say the steady increase in values is a good thing. While it may put some of the nicer cars out there out of range of some of us enthusiasts, it will increase the viability of cars needing work, leading to more being rescued instead of scrapped. This in turn will improve the chances of being able to run these cars long term, as the greater the number of cars being saved the more likely that parts will be made for them as stocks dry up.

/\ totally agree with this Mike although I am still not seeing an overall rise in prices. This car is at the moment an exception to that but low mileage one owner cars have always fetched at premium and do not really reflect the average car values. Every time one of these comes up there appears to be histerics about BX prices shooting up when in reality they haven't.

To be honest, I got my TXD Turbo because I could see where prices were heading - out of my range! It was now or never.

I'm in the same boat with the 2CV. It's a good job I own one as I could never afford one now.

Yes I missed that boat, far too expensive now.

Looks like this is going to go for around the 1400 quid mark, unless there's a late rally. Good price for a lovely car. Note to whoever buys it: change those bloody wheel-trims!

And to think, someone accused me at the NEC of talking up BX values! "Typical club," he said. I did point out that only really special, tidy BXs are topping a grand. Still lots of cheap dross out there, but not for much longer I suspect.

I was watching the auction (as you do when there is only Halo 4 on the TV screen) and it stuck around £1700 for a bit then £1980 then in the last 5 seconds leaped to £2500. Quite exciting and really hard to stop myself bidding, even though I haven't got two beans to rub together!
