I'd have plastic over steel because it will never rust. I've heard it doesn't like paint as much as steel though, so there's good and bad with that there plastic.

Swings and roundabouts. Rust on the bonnet not as much to worry about - far more important areas likely to rust first, unless bad stone chips haven't been dealt with...

Paint on plastic not a patch of that on steel....

Steel a better sound insulator too.

I don't mind a noisy XUD, there are far worse sounds.

looks like a goodun to me. if i was over the water i'd be tempted, got a mate in nuneaton too. If you do go for it i'd have a thorough look over and drive of the car before commiting when you get there if you can, any faults you can pick out, try and get some money off. Or ideally go and see before bidding.

i think i was lucky with my TZD, i bought it blind but apart from a few things its pretty straight and tidy and done me a good number of miles.

Doesn't look a bad car - seen worse. I think the wheels suit the car quite well in my opinion.

Looks really nice but how does he know it's reliable if he's a car dealer (which he is) so probably hasn't had it that long? On top of that description pretty crap and it's had a bloody good valet to bring it up but still worth a punt I reckon. If you inspect it before the listing ends you shouldn't go too far wrong.

Update: went to see the car today, apart from a few minor chips/scratches on the bodywork it's great, nothing wrong with it at all apart from the heater blower, which has been bodged to work.

I have put a bid in, but already I have been out-bid, and the price has gone over £500. The car's condition is v/good overall, so I think it's worth pushing past the £500 mark a little bit.

I met the seller, he's not a trade seller and he's only had the car 5 or 6 months. Seems genuine enough, took the car for a little test drive and all seems solid.

The listing ends tomorrow, I will let you know what happens. Good car!

BTW is it normal for the hydraulic suspension to be really slow in rising and lowering? I imagined it to be fast, but I've been told it's not. Opinions please?

It's mine now 8) will have it in a few days!

Do you think I can talk the seller down a few quid, or is that unfair seeing as I bid for it. Just asking because it has no tax ...

The price it sold for on ebay is the price you pay mate, I wouldnt start trying to renegotiate as that goes against ebay rules and could get you in bother!
