Been talking to my mate Tim today and i think i am going to have to sell my TXD Estate soon.

Good motor but needs a few things doing to her. I have too many BXs, cant drive them all at once.

Problably put her on ebay in the next week or so.

Someone really really wanted that car, bit strange really as its not even a topspec car?? We'll see if it gets re-advertised, i can't honestly see how its worth that much tbh.

TBH, i'd rather have Ian Fern's TZD turbo any day of the week over this TXD, there's only 30k's difference in mileage, we'll wait & see what Ian's is worth, but if i'd just won that TXD, i'd be gutted having just seen Ian's come up for sale....

Someone really really wanted that car
Actually, 2 people really really wanted it, as someone also bid just under 2.5K!

Between this, and a low mileage GSA breaking the 5k barrier at an auction recently, it seems classic prices in general are on the up, for top condition models at least.

I'm in agreement re: Ian's TZD, but this is pretty amazing - assuming the deal goes through.

I too thought the same Phil, (just after it Sold) , only time will tell !

If the final bidder actually went to view the vechile prior to actually bidding the sale probably will go thro', but if they didn't and there is a misrepresentation/overlooked issue by the seller, (K261 OAB) may get re-listed listed in the near future ?

Watch 'THIS-SPACE' (well this thread) !

Blummin' 'eck Jane you haven't bought it have you!!? Change those horrible wheel trims, get a yourself stocked up with wing mirrors and you're sorted! :D

(What's 'Halo 4'?)

Absolutely not Paul, I really am rather skint at the moment.
My spare wing mirror stock is currently at 1 (n/s) but looking out for an o/s. It's amazing how much the prices vary! I was all set to buy one, forgot to bid then it was relisted at £5 more!! Tim sent me a couple of links over the weekend for some which I must have a look at.

Halo 4 by the way is an Xbox game (The Xbox game of the year I am led to believe). My son has kept all his money since his birthday in March to buy it when it came out on the 6th of this month. I don't allow him to have the Xbox in his room so I have to put up with it on my TV in the living room. The joys of parenthood. :D

This isn't that unusual in the bigger scheme of things. The classic market generally is showing very high prices for cars with good originality, mileage (and this is low mileage in BX terms!) and condition. What it seems to demonstrate to me is that the BX is definitely gathering a classic following. Perhaps the top bidders even visited our stand at the show. Who knows!

I 'Maybe Totally Wrong' but if folks want to 'air' their views (To my research) please fire-away

I think that the 61K engine/Gear-box (which is currently F/S on E-bay) is from this TXD (K261 OAB) as used in making of the 'BetVictor' advert ?

Ian_Fearn wrote:Righto, I knew about the full plan for the car. So this is the full story.

1. The car that initially arrives and locks its wheels is my old BX.

This is the ONLY TIME you see MY BX.

When it pans to the drivers door this ISN'T mine. Mine didn't have the little noggin things around the window seal as I took them off when it had wind deflectors.

The chap that bought it off me informed me that mine was the only one of three that WOULDN'T be cut up.

The only mods made to my TZD were gold paint, strobe lights and alloy wheels. To my knowledge the car would be sold on at the end as a fully working BX.

The white TXD that sold a couple of weeks before mine for £2500 was the one turned into the roulette wheel. They'd already done this when they collected mine.

Feel free to ask any more probing questions!
The /\ quote from THIS thread for ref. , back to the engine and G/B which is F/S on E-bay !
