Rustfree Low Miles GT, with lots of spares (be quick)

SOLD! After thinking on the way up that it wouldn't be very practical, I looked at it and within minutes of opening the garage door i'd already made my mind up!

It ran beautifully, we put some fresh fuel in and a splash straight into the choke and once the air lock was gone, it started. Auto choke worked perfectly, rose slowly but got there and it wasn't even tappety. Rear wheels look non-slanted, no rust anywhere

It comes with SOO much stuff that I didn't bother haggling, every service item possible comes with it - new, and in most cases original citroen parts (brake discs/pads/cambelt/spheres/new tyresx4/oil filtersx4/HT leads and the list goes on). It even comes with mk1 headlamp protectors

So i'm a dog with two tails toady! Put down 250 deposit and picking it up when paid in full at the end of April. It's going to be an agonising wait...

We didn't bring it out of the garage unfortunately as all they tyres were flat, and some idiot had parked an Aston Martin Coupe (V8 one) half across the garage door. But these are the ones I have collated. They don't do it justice at all, the colour is much nicer than it looks in these photos.

Thats Great and you join the exclusive Mk1 BX GT owners in Somerset (2 I think!!!!)

I know a very good Citroen specalist in Yeovil if any work needed beyond DIY capabilities.

I personally LOVE the drum speedo, so couldn't consider owning a Mk1 GT. It'd be very upsetting! Mk2s are just a bit, well, boring...

it's very pretty, and GT mk1's had conventional dial instruments (see above photos).

Plan is to get it all serviced up, replace current with supplied new tyres, replace painted over with supplied rear 3/4 glass windows, flush hydraulic system or just renew LHM and fit supplied new genuine spheres. Then MOT in time for ICCCR 2012! So I can show off my pretty GT to everybody, hooray!

congratulations! looks a cracker!! further on from the insurance discusion, im 24 and classicline insure me, very reasonable. i have no accidents and no points but footman james said they wouldnt insure me until im 25!!

Footman James change their mind every five minutes and depending on who you speak to. I know 17 year olds who (until this year) had cover with FJ quite happily. Then FJ changed to no under 21s and most people 21-25 seem to be able to get cover. I've had them refuse to cover a 1991 Saab, yet would very happily cover a 1991 BX as they couldn't decide whether the age cut off was 20 or 25 years.

I'm currently with Peter James insurance.

Yep, garage is already half emptied, then i'm going to carpet the lower half of the walls inside and paint the ceiling etc. Also toying with fixing up some 6x9's i've had sat around since I had a boy-racer style corsa, and a head unit so as I can have garage tunes whilst tinkering!

My partner and I bought a house together in March, and since the garage has been full of the crap that you take with you when you move house but really should have chucked because you have no use for it, so it just sits there.

Garage is the one infront of my astra here:

Me opening the garage (not very flattering pose, I know) having borrowed mums Discovery Td5 to see how big the garage is, also in picture is partners sister (estate agent) to give her evaluation of the house and it's value for a haggling basis. Result= discovery fits in the garage if you don't want to get out of it (impossible, less than an inch of space either side of it), had to fold in wing mirrors - but it fitted! So a BX should be no problem.

The other garages, we own the freehold for but are leased to the adjacent 3 houses (off of rhs of picture) in a peppercorn rent thing (lease is included in houses value) it would be nice to purchase the leases back from the neighbors at some point, as the garages are effectively heated by our house.

Great stuff, I used to live in a fog myself (flat over garage) and I could fit my SD1 in with room to spare and had dozens of BX's inside at various points.
