Looked like a good deal to me. Hardly run in. I've only ever driven N/A 1.9 D BXs which go well enough for me even living in the land of no speed limits and rockets closing in fast in the rear view mirror! One gets to appreciate the scenery going up big hills too.

Roverman,
are you absolutely sure, about that?
I was given the number to ring on Saturday and it hadn't been sold then
apparently the gentleman selling it was waiting for someone to visit for a gander next Friday, maybe my post saying "I'll have it" made him move a bit quicker. strange that as I understood it the seller wouldnt be around til the end of the week. Hmmm, I think someones decided to keep it.
and to be honest I wouldn't blame them.

That's actually tempting. Am going to sell my Rover 75 if I can as I've got absolutely no cash for Mk1 restoring. Realising that I'm going to have to take it off the road to sort some of its issues really, so if I do that AND sell the Rover, I'll need something other than the 2CV to tide me over... (as that needs welding too and I don't want to use it too much now the salt's down).

FYI, I've arranged to view the old girl after Roverman pointed her out to me, as it seemed ideal for my needs.Dollywobbler wrote:That's actually tempting. Pleased to say I have now joined the BX fold by buying the Silver 19RD.
Had a good drive from Hereford back to Bedford and tomorrow the cleaning and listing of parts needed begins....
I will certainly need an o/s rear light, but I fancy fitting a pair of smoked ones if anyone has a good set for sale and I will also need a new grey splitter by the look of the damage to this one!
The car came with assorted used spares, including 2 x radiators, so I will have a good dig in the boxes tomorrow, as there may be stuff that I don't need that might be useful to someone else.
