If you can't get the proper ones, some motor factors sell generic ones that may fit.

Bodywise I agree Matt, mechanically though it had thousands spent over the year and was serviced regularly, some people arent bothered what it looks like, they just kept it "running" not knowing what a rarity it is.

Hello I am Stephen, I am the latest caretaker of the MK1 BX 1.9 DTR, I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase this lovely old car from a well known Internet auction
site, I am carrying on the story of this car in tribute to those persons who have done so much to save this lovely old car.

A little information about myself I have had a, GS Pallas, 2CV Van, in the past and I have a 2CV Van now which I am going to fully restore but I will not keep it, my other passion is all things Honda, the BX will be my main Citroen and probably my only one, next year I intend to go along to Citroen rallies with it,
Weather permitting I use the car just about every week to give it one trip out even if it is to go shopping, it is stange how a make of car that was so common no one took any notice of them, is now such a head Turner.

The BX has proven to be extremely reliable always starting first time and turning in excellent MPG, I have done some work on it two new lighting relays, and I have given the engine a service , I drained the old oil over 24 hours, and then put in new oil with engine flush, run the engine and then drained that over 24 hours, then removed the old oil filter, and then put in new oil filter, oil, air filter, I also put x1 Wurth Diesel Additive in to the diesel tank, all my cars have Xtreme put into the fule on fill up's the rest of the year, I think that all I will do this side of Christmas.

I was just thinking about this being one of the many vehicles that have contributed cast-off parts to keep Timex going! It's still wearing the front doors and seats!

Thank you everyone for the welcome,

Tim their is no need to have regrets, I am only the caretaker and as they say down here " what goes around, comes around " when it's time for the BX to move on to the next caretaker, it will be even better and that's all anyone can. " O " Tim did you give the car a name.

I had a good one today when I got into the car in the garage, I turned the heater fan on and it sounded like a second world war air raid siren, I laughed and laughed and laughed, fantastic after years of owning new and old, some very old Honda's and absolute nothing going wrong, an unexpected problem, I think me and this car are going to get along famously.
