Well the passenger door will be coming to you soon enough!

The graphics are ace, alas I fear getting them replicated will be very hard.

Ive been in touch with the previous but 1 owner who has sent me 20 years worth of MOT's and 5 pages worth of service history in printed form, which goes with the mountains of receipts I already have! plus a couple of pictures of the car "in action" on a skiing holiday in France. Although the car wasnt cherished bodywork wise it was very well maintained and very much "loved".

Time for another update!

Things are progressing nicely, all 4 doors are painted and 3 are fitted/fitted up and everything works, one came from Aberdeen, the other from Chatham, one from Brum and another from Manchester! Thank god for a company car

Both replacement front wings have also been repaired and painted and throughly waxoiled as was the inner wings and front end, so far only one is fitted, the old drivers door needs to come off so I've left the new wing off until I fit the new door just in case! The bonnet's at the painters being prepped and once the challenge is over she will be moved to the bodyshop for one new rear quarter (n/s) to fit and paint it, paint the other side, the A pillars and most probably the tailgate!

So far ive spent over £25 in hinge pins and trim clips alone, £100 in paint and £150 (more to come when they do the bonnet) on labour plus all the new lamps, bumpers, mirrors etc etc.

Im undecided on the alloys so far as they arent up to scratch, yes they look ok from a distance but when you get close they are still tatty, so I may either get them diamond cut or have them painted instead.

The interiors going back in slowly, the new seats (from the 16TRS which is now sporting a leather interior) are patially fitted as is the new rear boot side panels, parcel shelf and supports, the carpet is still in my airing cupboard so will be have a quick vaccum before refitting (its been steamcleaned last Autumn), although I want to tidy the floor up first.

No wonder I have no money!

Dammit, you're making me want a Mk 1 again! I definitely have unfinished business with those cars.

No more white door!

The new panels are VERY shiny, but those photos dont do them justice, check out the paint fade on the old panels compared to the new!

Yes, that's better. It's coming along well. It was fortunate it found you as an owner as it was en route to banger territory before! Is that your lock-up then?
