My Deli has had the speedo conversion to MPH and has a calibration and odometer varification certificate issued when imported at some expence so I don't doubt it being a legal requirement as you say Adrian but there appear to be many that haven't so not sure how they get away with it especially as grey imports are suposed to go through a VOSA test station before being sold arn't they?

some are, those over 10 years old are far less vigorous...

Non-EC vehicles are also much different treatment to EC27, as they'll all be legal to register/drive in the UK anyway under Common Treaties - although obviously most will be intended to drive on the wrong side of the road and in kmh....

An old neighbour of mine from Portugal had his battered Mk2 Golf which was still on Portugese plates at least 2 years after he moved in, and that's not the 1st place he'd lived here. They flew back to visit family....
