Pipes with ends where there shouldn't be.

Over-zealous and probably uncalled for I agree but then again, why give them reasons to be strict on this.

Incidentally the rubber leak-off pipes are available more cheaply at GSF but are a false economy as the rubber is so crap they barely last from one MOT to the next!

Mmnh..........a good idea, but........

1) That doesn't look like a cheaper option than the real thing.

2) It will have to be cut off to remove to replace the pipes next time.

3) The real thing can be undone and re-used if you are careful.

Whilst at my local garage yetserday someone came in who was an experienced mechanic doing work on a Modeo's brake pipes. The two guys at the garage had just been on an MoT update training session. From what they said it would be prudent to repair to original standard; you may find that cable ties on a pipe will be an MoT fail in future

And you would then have grounds for appeal, the magic word is ''secure'' and as cable ties meet BS5750 bla bla bla bla(or whay ever it is now) I don't see how they could call them insecure if secured with a cable tie?

But in my defence you had to click through further pages to identify a quantity rather than a unit.

Whoever did that 'repair' is clearly a bit of a gonad, seeing as they've formed a bend in the (solid) repair pipe. The bend moves as the suspension goes up and down, and that bend would have probably caused the sheer.

I was thinking similar (though not from a knowledgeable standpoint). The two halves don't meet in a natural way. Weird.

Curiously that is £1 more expensive than the local Cit Main Dealer.

Recent purchase price there is £11.61 ex vat and £13.93 inc vat. (As at Aug 2011)

Good to see they are still available from Citroen I thought they were no longer available. Are they shared with later citroen vehicles or are they just using up old stock?
