I think he wouldn't mind a group of people going, provided of course that it was not impromptu in any way at all. I think he appreciated the attention and conversation we had (as I say we were there for over an hour). He might hope that someone was going to buy the Ivory RD though

A mate of mine is trying to buy the Ivory RD, but I think he's having trouble finalising the deal.

What a hoarder old Syd is! Quite a collection but I reckon they'll all be brown metallic powder before he sells as much a door handle!

I just got back from Tasmania and there's paddocks full of old cars down there, rusting to pieces in remote corners. No Citroens at all mostly Holdens and Fords. There's also quite a few still on the road. I particularly enjoyed the vintage Japanese stuff.

I stopped to enquire about a late 60s VW van sat in a field. He didn't tell me to piss off but said : please take it away, it'll save me the trip to the scrap yard. Then he asked if I was interested in buying an even older one sat in an out-building. Yes, a 1960s 'split' camper needing a bit of work but almost ready to roll in 'rat' form! He said make him an offer.
Probably the best barn find I'll ever encounter but I think it's beyond my resources to do anything with it, especially with the $aus being sky high..

Lol indeed, george is getting the feeling that really Syd doesnt want to part with anything, which is a shame as they will all sit and rot until one day the site will have to be cleared.

It'll be the usual story of wanting waaaay too much money for cars that need lots of work. If he was sensible & was prepared to pay a little over scrap value then he'd get a sale, sadly that won't happen

Well it seems the beige 19RD may be finding a new home, sadly not with George (dollywobblers mate) who was very keen on it and has been ringing Syd trying to get an answer with no success on a firm price, a "mystery buyer" has apparently offered a higher price than George could afford so it seems to have gone to the highest bidder.

Whether this was just an effort to up the price of the car to get George to pay more (which he cant afford to do) only time will tell, I know Syd's son has had some input in it, hence why the delay and the price being higher than what was originally discussed.

I wouldnt be surpsrised if in 3 months time the car is still sat there though.....

I wouldn't personally bother contacting the old fella, most of it is just rust so anything more than scrap value is over the value tbh. If any of these cars were worth something, he'd have gotten them fixed & they'd have 12mths mot on them, & thats never going to happen. A shame, but they are destined to remain where they are

Time to move on from this guy's, its only going to cause frustration as someone has already found out especially since another family member has gotten involved, usually the sign of doom for any deal

If the 19rd needs minimal work, then it might possibly worth the money? I can't remember if it had an mot or not? If not, then thats a damn good price for a BX period.
