thing to do if you cant sort the pipe if it is a pipe, tract the source, disconnect at the union and bung a bleed nipple in,
drive it on 2 or 3 legs,

even if its a cylinder do the same

you will of course need to get it up enough to get under

Thanks Malcolm. the location and lack of tools is a major issue, I am happy to pay someone to do it, its just finding them!

I've found a scissor jack is often useful for starting to lift a Citroen with dead hydraulics - most go down to a couple of inches, and you can at least get it high enough to get a trolley or bottle jack under it to left the rest of the way.
