Ian, Alan Goodyear (from Rust in Peace) has a E plate white estate in his yard with the same interior trim in if you need anything....plus he has LOTS of the correct type of wheel trims if your bothered.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Thanks Tim. The dashboard is actually damaged at one end, the driver's door pocket is cracked and all seats are a bit frayed. Not really got budget for cosmetics at the moment though. I'm aware that there can't be many left with this interior though.

Our first Mk2 had the same interior, my 89F has the darker grey trim with red/grey herringbone trim.

New rear washer pump fitted, new wiper blades fitted, replacement stereo not fitted as I can't get the old one out. I don't have small enough Torx bits. Frustrating. I only ever fit stereos to BXs in a way that means you only have to remove the four panel screws to get it out. Whoever fitted this one did not do that.

The alternator light began faintly glowing last night with the heater on full pelt, HRW and main beam all in action. Something else to check!

Changed the upper engine mount. Has improved things, but it will still shunt quite badly if provoked. Tim - does the offer of a lower mount still stand? I'm guessing that replacing that one might be a muckier job...

Also adjusted the clutch as the bite was right on the floor. May have gone too high now, but it isn't slipping. Might just be that I'd already got used to the bite being so low.

Yup. Limped home from the tyre place and then had a rather desperate search through my horrifically messy garage for the spare caliper I knew I had somewhere. Found it eventually and now all sorted!

What IS the right wheel trim combo for the RD? The non-BX ones it currently wears are starting to look scruffy.

Mulley - it seems the side locker wasn't correctly fitted and must have fallen out. There's then nothing to stop the pad escaping other than the wheel. No harm done. Nothing to indicate that this had happened until the wheel came off. Brakes still worked very well!

Tim - thanks. Wondering if I've got a set of those still kicking about somewhere. Fixing the brakes reminded how much I hate wheel bolts. Studs make life a LOT easier!

If not Ian, I picked up a set of 4 for £10 from Alan Goodyear.

Decided to check the level in the gearbox. Got over a litre in! Quite low then...

Gearchange is better now! All ready for a 500 mile trip to Kent and back.
