I thought I would start a post for my Bx. I picked this up on Sunday, bought from Ebay unseen.





I only spotted in on Ebay when it had 2 days left to go and didn't have time to view the car. Decided to just take a risk and bid on it

Drove it back from Gosport to Kent and it ran faultlessly. Fingers crossed I think it was a good deal. Everthing works and it drives really nice.

Showing 72k on the clocks and have every M.O.T to back up the mileage.

Took it down to Medway Citroen on Monday to have a new water hose fitted. The hose had been repaired and was fine, but for peace of mind I had it changed. Really pleased with the service I got from them and very reasonbly priced. Will certainly use them in future.

I was feeling brave, so asked if they could raise the BX on the ramps and have a good look underneath. Thankfully it was good news. The car is great underneath and never been welded

Next Saturday it's getting waxoiled and mopped. Then future plans are to lose the towbar, track down some Gti alloy wheels and just keep on top of the maintenance.

Awesome ! Those are genuine GTi wheel trims and incredibly rare! So hang on to them. That's as it would have left the factory....except for the chrome bumper inserts.

Looks like a Citroen uk car by the rear number plate?

That looks like a great buy - well done! As Tim says those are the original GTi trims and very rare - I'd be tempted to fit a set of speedlines just to keep those trims mint. Enjoy it - lovely car.

Looks just like mine. Dont think they were fitted with alloys, steels and very rare trims there.

Glad to see it is still up to your expectations. I was reluctant to let it go but having just trundled about in Brittany for 2 weeks the BX turbo/diesel estate was the more practical to keep for my purposes and I don't have the same guilty feeling about filling it with building materials or getting it covered in mud. Rather better on fuel too!! It is also well faded paintwise and half the lacquer missing so fits in fine with the other locals!
Now, however, I am a little embarrassed about it's looks - I had a lot of nice comments about the GTI in various places over the years (including France) so may embark on a restoration project with the estate as it is a fairly sound vehicle apart from the electrics which have various by-pass wires to keep it running - does it matter- they work!

My tzd turbo is much the same in looks, 50 different shades of ven red paint, lacquer peel all over the bonnet, faded roof rails, 3 alloys and 1 steel, different colour front seats, various wiring adaptions, non standard front fogs, but underneath the layer of grime is a pretty dam good, now solid bx which is now just turned 272,000, and covering approx 500miles a week with regular runs from Lincs to Heathrow usuually fully loaded, will be doin a major 5 yr overhaul shortly which will include a bit of plumbing and rear arm rebuilds and engine mounts apart from that its all good and still returning low 50's mpg
