!!!X RALLY 2016 ****NOW BOOKED*** 17TH April!!!

Well the X Rally 2014/15 has been expertly organised and personned by the BXC, so I imagine next year will be the same again!

I think that the Venue is perfect but the dates need to change so they don't coincide with "Drive it Day" which must cost us attendees.

Sandre suggested that if possible to arrange for the same weekend as the Fine Food, but they are August and October this year but it would be nice to combine something for the family on top of just viewing the lovely house and grounds, I do think mid/late April when the weather improves is ideal and far enough away from t'Northern Rally which is historically is late in May.

The numbers attending are growing year on year but we had NO tractions or A series cars his time which was disappointing so I think we need to get in early and let the larger Citroen Fraternity know all models are welcomed and keep reminding them.

Paul has kindly offered to do the Rally Posters Again, which I think would be good to be printed as a flyer and handed out at the National perhaps?

Next year marks the 30th Anniversary of the AX would you believe but there was only one of those this year.

Suggestions chaps/esses?

The attraction of Drive It Day also depends on your localities events. That's if you took the view of being a Drive It Day appendage yourself. I do not know what the original idea was. A drive out, lunch, and home again? Round here is seems to be evolving into a sort of Auto based orienteering event, taking in more than one venue, and meeting differing chums, in differing cars, on the way round. I like that. No two people are doing the same thing. The joys of the mobile 'phone used to advantage, rather than as a stick. The cost can be trimmed to suit your pocket. Clearly attending four prime venues with a lunch and high tea is going to see off over £100 in entrance and nosh. Most of us have not that sort of cash to burn. But equally a Tenner plus fuel will give you a fun day out, clearing the post winter cobwebs.

A spring date is good, as I think most BXC cars are on the road year round, or off injured. The summer gets busy. Obviously the weather is a matter of chance. A good venue will offer some indoor hiding place, I expect this was already thought of. I would prefer it more central to the countries spine, but if its working, and has a willing organizer, go with it. Success is its own advert and not to be dismissed lightly. If the NEC comes up, its worth advertising next years event, as it comes up the other end of the year, and appeals to another section of folk. No one horse wonder, the BXC, then.

No dates on B.House website yet for 2016 events, doesn't mean there aren't any booked. I'm on it, hoping mid)April.

This would be a perfect happening if it could be in the nearhood of ICCCR. As I'll be heading the Netherlands with my BX Van (the one that has grown it's roof) in any case, it would be nice to visit you guys again. I only have 4 weeks a year to drive around Europe you know ;)
But seariously, if there's like any Citroen event a week before or after ICCCR, I think you will have other travelling idiots there too. 2012 was my first visit to your island and would like to do it again ^^ ^^ .

Xrally is always April Kaapel. We are talking about a September event this year and if that happens and isva success then we'll probably do it again next year, that might fit with your ICCCR trip? You're welcome to any events of course.

X-rally next year: TVR have booked 10th, which is the foody weekend thing. Boo. Trying for 17 April 2016, watch this space.

Can we not also do the tenth as well? There's plenty of room!

Why not have more than one X rally in a year?

Apparently not, as TVR is estimating 600 cars.

I'm sure Tim wouldn't lower himself to such sweeping generalisations!

If there are enough Citroen, and enough public, we have found inviting the local WI to do a good causes food stand is a great idea. Should they be up for it, they arrive with cakes and sandwiches, tea in china, better than you can buy in most shops, and at sensible prices =P~ . The trick then is to butter them up a bit - rides in a GTI, that sort of thing, and everyone is happy. Only thing you must not do is upset the WI. Even the SAS would retreat in the face of a WI cell on active duty!

Which brings to mind the idea of the 'BX Hot Cross Bun X Run' around Easter, which the 'X Rally' is, leaving the name 'X Rally' free to be used on a new event. Could go so far as to suggest that each car bring non-nationwide HCB for a bunfight with the crate of beer, beers yeah, I saw ya! Mind you with the Saturday 'Bourne to BX' sounds fun.

Anyway a few ideas, much depending on an expansion of activity.
