Hello everyone
The BX keeps adding miles, after cleaning up the colling system it runs much lower temperature and I finally got the colling looking green!
For now I park it until I have more time for it but its a great little car, no problems cruzing at 100 mph and still average 28 mpg since got to USA
some pictures of my family collection
As you can see we like Citroen

Found 2 of this in our old shop , both are full
I could not found the old gauges to use it but I order a set
Car has AC option , the previous owner told me supposed to be working. When I select cold and the AC buttom the front fans come on, not sure if the compressor is on but it also could be because is not charge or too low
I understand the chances to be working after 30 years are low , but what would be the steps to test it out just for fun
I see one port on the bottom front but I cant find the other one , is that possible only has one port ??

You want to change the thermostat also, normal running temperature for BX is 83-88 celsius depending on the version (and assuming the gauge shows right).

Some updates on the AC
Compressor is working but I notice 3 ports , same size
2 with white caps and one with a black cap on it , all nipples are same size
I check the records on the car was charged back in 2003 , amazing how car got all the invoices since new from Citroen
Does anyone know what are the 2 white cap ports on the compressor ??

On the AC , its under vacum still, but I am waiting for a new dryer , got one from ebay in UK.
I am still learning how AC works, I was thinking to flush the system, except for the compressor, dryer, expansion valve then replace the oil on the compressor and see what happens, will be nice to have a citroen with AC , heat is brutal here

Hey, nice video. Looks wet over there.
Something not right with the oil level/pressure gauge. The backlight should go out after a minute or so when it changes over from reading the oil level to the oil pressure.
Does yours change over ? What should happen is with ignition on and before starting the engine the gauge should swing over and show the oil level in the sump. Then after starting a short while later it switches to reading the pressure and the white backlight goes out.
Its not a big deal that gauge as I have found that the oil level indicator is not a reliable indicator of how much oil there is and the pressure gauge often gives a very unsteady reading so don't worry too much about yours !

This past weekend due to the rain most of the drovers bail out on the citroens
Once a year we all meet at Carlisle PA around 100 miles from DC , we normally about 20+ citroen , a lot of everything , really nice day , we do a driving and also a dinner , fun to hang out a see couple citroens
I took the BX this year , car drives amazing. Going up I follow a DS and a CX, due to rain we cruze around 80kph but coming back by myself the BX stay easily 120-140 kph
All day did over 300 miles with the BX .
