Would strongly advise you change the cambelt before you attempt to drive it any distance, the one on it will be perished after standing for several years. Don't risk it and trash your engine it's not worth it for £20, I would certainly do a full fluids change as well.

Thanks for the positive words guys, I'm really happy with it. If I hadn't taken it then the scrapman was coming to pick it up, and I couldn't let that happen, it's far too good.

Just give it a good scrub/wash, wave a heat gun over it and voila! I then kept it topped up with Autoglym bumper and tyre gel?. My red one looked amazing!
Yes, i've seen some photos of someone doing this, brings it back up a treat! It will definitely be getting this, though as you say, it's not a top priority, bigger fish to fry first.

That's good to hear about it polishing up well, I've had mixed experiences with polishing faded red cars in the past, never seem to keep their colour for long afterwards. I hope that isn't the case with this one. I honestly wish it was an option they hadn't chosen, I haven't dared open it yet as the amount of rust on the edges inside does not bode well!

Don't worry, it'll be getting a thorough going over mechanically before any significant running occurs! Starting with the starter motor, as the solonoid keeps jamming badly!

The sunroofs leak because the drain tubes get blocked, plenty of information on here on how to unblock them.

As for the faded paint, it will cut back but as you say will fade again, the trick is to keep it well polished (I found TCUT red polish to help).

And of course Ven Red is the best colour, or in my case 50 shades of red.

Once polished, Autoglym Super Resin Polish is good on Venetian red (it may not have enough cut for the first polish). Keep up with it and it an you can maintain the shine without removing too many microns as you could with some products. Top off with a good lsp. Halfords have a deal on AG HD wax.

Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!
