Still, the market dictates price as always
You're forgetting the GT with about 7000 on it. And my mk1 only has 17,500.

I have spent ages looking around

Found a great one on bonhams. It sold a few months ago. Excellent condition. Bonhams rated it just below concourse (4/5). It sold for just under £1700

It did have more miles though. Just sub 79k

2000-2500? Perhaps.

It’s a hard one.

Being a 16 petrol they have always been a bit of a poor relation. But that mileage certainly makes it valuable. But you need to check it over. It could still have rust issues etc and if it’s been owned by a older person could have some cosmetics.

I would say £2.5-£3k is probably fair.

If it was a Mk1 it would be worth more.

Good luck.

I am going to pick this up tomorrow - assuming it is as described, and the car in the many pictures that I received.

Sadly its not a GTI, so the search continues on that front

I will post pictures, for those that are interested soon....

Prefer it to the Lamborghini, like Signor Gandini!

Why do you want a GTi so much? I can understand a GTi 16V with its special engine but isn’t a GTi just a trim level on a 19? And Citroen weren’t exactly shy about using that trim on other engines cars and giving it a new name.

I’m pleased you have got a nice BX though abs hope you enjoy it.

The 19 GTi was more sporty for sure. It had 124bhp as opposed to the the normal BX 19 which was 107bhp. The GTi would also have firmer suspension and hence a 'sportier' ride

Didn’t also have abs and front fog lights as standard

No to mention a wicked spoiler.

Gti 16v or not. That’s my choice

There's a GTi 4x4 recently advertised at £6000 on the facebook group, which you may have seen

Yes. Though thanks for heads up.

I have been in contact with the owner

It’s on my short list.
Just thinking carefully re a 4x4 as they are hard to repair.
Though I did read you can add a pug transfer box.
