Strut Gator

Post by Jugostran »

Hello!
I just bought two used replacement front struts for my BX.
They work great and are really smooth. One problem though. The gator that I have doesn't seem to hook into anything in the bottom. It hooks in at the top at the sphere mount, but it just free floats at the bottom.
On my original struts there was a plastic ring that the strut gators went over and snapped onto on the bottom, but these don't have this.
The struts are from a Mk1 BX, while the gators are original to my car and are from 1989.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its usually a question of transferring the reaatining ring over from the old strut. Carefully does it though.
The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.

Ahh, so the ring needs reseating. Got it.
I wanted to transfer the little rubber boots from the sphere mounts anyway, so I am taking it apart regardless.
Thanks for the answer!
