Looking nice. I noticed there was a picture of a GT in one of the magazines this month, similar or same colour. The article went on to mention how they progressed on to the GTi and then the 16v. There wasn't a great deal written, the magazine was just covering classic cars generally, at least the BX got a mention.

I don't know, I was in Smiths and just picked up a magazine after looking at bike mags below, it was a classic one, could have been Practical. There were quite a few cars listed with pictures and one was the BX. It was quite run of the mill really, nothing outstanding beyond the picture of the GT which made me think of you. I had to rush off having spent a few minutes deciding which one to buy. It was only two days ago, likely still there if you go in. If I can come up with it, I will get back to you but looking at covers online isn't helping.

I'm working my way through some minor jobs on the GT and one of them is the non working front fog lights. I've replaced the bulbs and holders with tested good ones and gone through every combination of light switch positions there is to see if they work off the back of head lights, main beam, rear fog light, side lights..........but nothing works. I've peered through the front panel and can see the loom connected up on both sides OK. Now I think there must be a relay somewhere but I can't find a diagram that shows it's position, it's listed in Haynes but no position is shown. Plenty of info on fuses but , alas, not on relays - there's a few in the fuse box and on the inner wings but again nothing to say what the do.
Can anyone shed any (fog) light on where I should look?

Hey Panky, fabulous purchase mon frère - that is a stunner. It must be the best, if not then very close to being the best GT around in this country. I'm sure Rich pointed you in the direction of piston heads? I've seen his write of of a lot of the work he did on it, it's good stuff.
It took me a while to get over the elitism of owning a GT too!

Regarding the fog lights, mine don't work either! They did, but since a the GT's lay up in 2017 and re-emergence two years ago they decided to just not. They earth through the horn wiring and as only one of my horns works that'll be the first place I look and test when I get around to it. FYI the horns are behind the passenger inner wheel arch liner, behind the front bumper - I had to ask where they were as I couldn't find them! A lot of the bracketry has a lot of surface corrosion here on mine, so I suspect an earth fault.

Thanks for the kind comments Tom and yes Rich did a fantastic job and I did find the Piston Heads thread - brilliant. He's done all the hard work so it's up to me to preserve it
That's a great picture and we'll have to get the cars together again at an event soon - yours looks pretty damn fine too, they'll make a great pair
The earthing theory is interesting as I'm not sure if both horns are working on DKK so I'll need to investigate that one.

I had to unplug one of my horns so at least one of them was working for the MOT...

I should be outside playing with the GT but a slice of roast beef on Christmas day has kicked of nasty bout of gout, beef seems to be the biggest trigger so I usually avoid it completely but the sight of a rib waiting to be carved was just too much So here I am confined to my computer chair trawling around for anything interesting and I found Kitch's GT restoration blog on Piston Heads again. I've read it before but I took more time to savour every detail this time around and what a labour of love it was, all the ups and downs of finding more to do then expertly picking every detail off - he's a true craftsman I appreciated the fact that he didn't hide anything and each seback and mishap was detailed for the reader.
Anyway I appreciated the car before on how special it is but now I'm even more in awe of the work and details that have been lavished on it so once again thank you Rich for taking so much time and effort on DKK over the six or seven years of the restoration and I will continue to tinker and play - easy on such a well sorted machine
