Greetings BX fans from greece. My name is Alexandros, and I am member of www.greekcitroenclub.gr .
I have a citroen BX 1.4, with 195.000 klm on it. It is the car I got from my father and on wich I learned to drive.

This is how it was on its first phase.

After 19 years my oldies first accident (a mini cooper S crashed on my while the car was parked… :x )

And after taking her back

Now I want to change her the engine, and I am betwin the saxo VTS 1.6 120hp engine (wich fits perfecty) and the 1.9 16v 140hp GTI engine.

I have a year to think of it, but I’ll figure out the best solution…

Anyway, best regards, and I hope this place will help me a lot in making my car great…
If you wish to give regards to greek citroen club, here is the English part (its poor, but better than nothing…)

Welcome aboard matey, nice car that. I would check what difference the engines make to your insurance. Not seen a BX with Saxo wheels on before, they dont look half bad!

Hello Alexandros, welcome along. Yes, a nice car - good that you repaired it after that crash - many BXs would have been written off after that. Do you see many BXs in Greece?

Thanx guys.
Yes we have a lot of BXs in greece. It was a really good car, as C4 is now... and a lot of them are still rolling...
We have also some GTIs in the club, and we are having fun by racing some vag group cars like Octavia turboz... They usually cant believe in there eyes...
My engine is really old and in bad condition, but I am thinking of changing it as as sayed before.
The problem with the vts 1.6 engine is that its TU not XU... and I cant do it laufully...
Anyway...
(sorry for my english but I am just a student :P :D )

Welcome to the club, why not just fit an XU engine if that would make it legal?

Mk2 BX 1.4s are TU engines anyway so fitting a 1.6 TU shouldnt be illegal?

Thank you for the welcome :D

Well it is illegal because only the 1.4 and 1.1 BX had a TU engine. The 1.6 engine was always the old XU 90 hp engine...

So now I want some more horsepower, but...
the 1.9 XU engine is too much ( I am a new driver with 4 (curvy) years of driving) and also too costy (it "drinks" too much gaz fuel :( )
So thats why I want the saxo engine...
The only problem is that I have to cut off the octapus, and generally the wires...
Anyway.
Thanx again for the wellcoming :D
