Hi everyone,

Here is the story so far...

Image
The only surviving picture of my car when I bought it... Sitting on Xantia wheeltrims, and totally unmolested :P

Image
This was taken after the badges were changed, and the 16v interior was fitted, courtesy of eBay for £50...

Image
One of the best 16v interiors i've seen for a while... Now with rear headrests too.

Image
Graphite speedlines, front spoiler and rear spoiler all finish the car off nicely. Until...

Image
...I was offered a pair of P2 16v bumpers, how could I refuse?

Image

Bumpers now both painted...

A few other little things include:
Image
205 GTi instruments (Still not fully working, but I'll get there  )

Also stuck a pair of these on...

More pics of the freshly painted bumpers to follow...

Regards,
Matt

Well, that's different! Nice, sympathetic work. Gandini/Bertone badge: An interesting and arguably legitimate 'extra'!

My only worry might be the traffic light grand prix showdown difficulty - unless you always play it cool - and never give the impression of wanting to rise (so to speak) to the challenges offered!

Looking good Matt, well done on the work so far!

Just one question though - what is everybody looking at in the first photo?

I like the Bertone badges very much indeed, and the instrument panel too. I really must get a temperature gauge fitted to mine.

I hope you've mentioned the mods to your insurance company? You should get away without paying any more, as they are all period Citroen parts, but you'd hate to find yourself without cover should the worst happen.

A Pug dash?! REALLY!
I duno, the yoof of today!

Dude, would you like a proper BX instrument panel?
Oh, and that there tow eye cover. The reason you didn't get it is that it was returned to the local sorting office.
I collected it last week and took it to the national. But you failed to attend.
So I still have it!
Are you going to Stratford?
No excuses!
I'll bring the cover and a proper instrument binnicle if you want?

I think playing it cool is probably the way forward, but I wouldn't know, as nobody has ever tried anything... :?
Just one question though - what is everybody looking at in the first photo?
Unfortunately, that was the only picture I didn't take, so I couldn't possibly tell you... But whatever it was must have been good!

I've told them about the wheels, and the bumpers... I think these are the main things. The engine is standard (for now)... I think they wanted about £30 more a year, so not too bad.

Proper BX instruments would be ideal actually... and good news on the towing eye cover... I was starting to think there was some conspiracy against me, by the royal mail. Thanks a lot...

Stratford is a definite... around the end of August isn't it?

I really wanted to come to the national... but it wasn't to be unfortunately... Still, should hopefully meet everyone at Stratford.

Matt

Aren't the badges Fiat X1/9 or off something recent with a Vauxhall
griffin on it?

These ones are off a Vauxhall Astra Coupe/Cabriolet... But you can also find them on the Fiat Punto Convertible.

Really expensive from a Vauxhall dealer (In excess of £40 a pair), but you can find them on eBay brand new regularly enough for around £10-£15.

You can also find Bertone badges on some 60s and 70s Italian supercars:

Maybe lawnmower test racing at lunchtime, as the company next door is called "GP Lawnmowers" ? 8)

Still on the lookout for a pair of 16v skirts... I think it desperately needs them.

Does it seem a bit OTT for a 14TGE?

Your cars your own mate so do what you like with it, some people modify, some just spend all day polishing and some dont care what they look like.
