My favourite colour, I had a nearly new one this colour in 93 it always looked stunning but I got rid as it was a diesel without power steering, not a good combination. Pitty this ones a petrol.

Really? I'd love to get my hands on a Diesel-without-power-steering model. I hate PAS and would much rather have a manual rack, but finding a NON-PAS BX these days is not easy.

I may have to remove the PAS and associated rubbish from a Diesel Turbo to get the model I really want...

Just find one with a dodgy HP pump, then you'll have no power assistance for at least some of the time...
Out of interest, why do you prefer manual steering? Personally I don't find the BX over assisted. Equally, I've not found that driving none PAS cars causes a problem either, even the 205 which several people have commented on as being heavy.

I understand the petrol ones are not too bad but the diesel with the heavy engine is horrible without pas, well mine certainly was.

I like that pic of the 14 outside 'The Soul Celler'

There's no power steering on my yellow estate - no problem, never sweated really also manual windows. I like less things to go wrong.
Our Merc 406D van doesn't have power steering and that's really good for upper arm development - everything is easy after that!

I had a 17D witn no PAS. I found it to be fine in all but stationary situations.

Strange, mine was that bad I looked into having PAS retro fitted but from memory Citroen wanted nearly £2000 to do it. Mine was a city car thought and only had 7000 on the clock when I bought it, perhaps they loosen up with age?

My current 14 is absolutely fine without PAS. The 17 though was bloody awful to park.
