What an idiot... (well in my opinion at least)

Post by TB2 »

Today another valver appeared on Swiss autoscout:

http://www.autoscout24.ch/AS24Web/Detai ... id=6572699

I translated the description:
Emptied completely, 8x15 alloys with slick tyres, short transmission, lowered, racing seats, seperate oil cooler. No MOT possible
I just don't get it... Why do you buy a citroen with smooth hydraulics, lower it, make it as uncomfortable as possible, pump loads of money into it making it even impossible to pass MOT and then sell it for 3000 bucks (which is little for whats been invested, and a lot for a useless car). What nonsense!

Here's the pictures:

I find the look appalling, but that's how tastes differ. What's with the holes in the bumper? Those widened wheel arches also look silly.

Well it certainly seems to be in good condition, and the price ain't that high if it really is in good nick. But then again, it's completely useless (and looks silly imo).

No idea what happened to the hydraulics.

I suppose the price will go down until someone buys it for spares, if it's never going to be road legal. That'll look great parked outside your house Carl! :D

Reading the description in the ad, the car's been prepped and tuned for Race or off-road competition use - 148PS ......... is that good from a 'tuned' valver?

The description refers to "Niveauregulierung manuell" which means 'Manual Height Regulation' so, presumably, the hydropenumatic system's intact and it's been lowered either by futzing with the height adjusters or the subframe mountings.

So, if someones after a track car, this might be it. Personally, I wouldnlt touch it with Mulley's ...........

"Niveauregulierung manuell" is in the default description for all BXs, it has nothing to do with it being a race car but probably refers to the lever, which is manually operated. in any case:

Racing was banned in switzerland from 1955 until 2007

there's not a single racing event in Switzerland. The Swiss have no racing pedigree at all. If you'd want to race the car, you'd have to tow it outside the country. In my opinion, such a car is utterly pointless unless you live straight across a racing track or have enough space and money to just have it stand around in your living room as a novelty.

It's listed again and with more pictures. I added them in the first post. Btw they claim it now has around 180PS.

Looks like it's been "abused" to promote the C5 somewhere...

Can i just say, obviously as stated it will not pass swiss road test (MOT or whatever its called locally)

but i see no reason that wouldnt pass a UK MOT.

We tend to be allowed more free space when it comes to modifications.

It horrid though, totally horrid.
