1988 bx gti 18,000 miles

Post by Tashman »

Hi im new to the bx scene. I live in Guernsey in the channel islands and have just brought a gray 1988 gti with 18,000 on the clock, full serv history too for £150. It needed a new rear silencer a good tidy up as had been garaged for the past five years. I think I have the bx bug already! :D

Yeah I think it is, Im the second owner from new. The bloke who had it from new only used it sundays and had a stroke in 2002 so has not used it since and has always kept it garaged. I want to put some pictures up but not really sure how to  Not that tecnically minded

when uploading to Photobilge choose a medium size of picture for upoad (photobilge let you choose a size) and then copy / paste the [img] tag for this forum.

I use image shack, just click the "browse" button, then select a photo from your computer and upload it. You should resize it to 640x480 because that's the best size for forums.

Hello Tashman and welcome - our first Guernsey member! That does sound like a bargain.
I'm just reading ' The Silent War' - ' The Inside Story of The Channel Islands under the Nazi Jackboot' - I'm sure it's changed a bit since then though! :D

I was just reading up on Guernsey and apparently the speed limit is 35mph? Is that right? It must be frustrating having a BX GTI! I suppose the reason that it's got such a low mileage is that there's no-where to go! :D
Looks like a lovely place though.

Yeah your right the speed limit is 35, in some places (lanes etc) its 25! The old Germans did leave their mark bunkers and towers etc some quite interesting though. Im still trying to put a pic on my profile and some better ones up for people to look at.

35?! Blimey that's slow. Has your car ever been into 4th or 5th gear I wonder?
