16v phase 1 pictures finally...

Post by themildbunch »

Hi

Been working on this 16v today - fixed the dodgy running.. Replaced injectors with s/h ones tested, cleaned and resealed by a local injection specialist.. The engine runs beautifully now...

Nasty fuel leak though.. see this thread:

http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12346

Here's some pictures anyway.. looks much better than I remembered.. little bit of rust around the rear and some of the pipes don't look too good but no LHM leaks!

Oh - and this was the reason this car's been languishing in a garage for so long..

I'm sure I've seen this car...

At a guess I'd say you've just had some work done on your estate at Bristol 2CV's??
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

It's first owner was one of the Will's tobacco dynasty - I bought it from a guy in Weston around 2005... until the belt snapped...

no - not done anything with the TZD yet - thought about looking for a replacement engine as a cheaper option but will probably visit 2cv's sometime soon as I don't have enough space to attempt that kind of work at the moment

That might explain it then... I went to look at a P1 in Weston a few years back, and I'm more and more convinced it was this one...

Mannie said a dude had been in with a TD that had a valver.. I commented that the dude must be a top man since all the best people have a TD and a valver!

What about people who have a TD and a valver engine in a different car?

Praise is more than welcome! :D
That's not what I've been getting recently with 'broken down' bx's....
Just makes me more determined though...

Maybe we should start a thread about the least constructive comments from our nearest and dearest... I could start it with; "now you've spent years on and off rebuilding the engine and it's almost ready for an mot you'll be able to sell it."

Thats cool too.
You know I'd buy that 205 if I thought K could actually handle it...

hmm, constructive comments from t'other half....
"so...you've bought another bus.......<dramatic pause>....great! Something else you'll never do anything with, just like me"...
