they are about £65-70 new aren't they?Defender110 wrote:I think it's gone past it's worth already?
I would have thought that one hour of use would recoup the cost of one over the hassle of getting a dead, arse on the floor Citroen to a garage.

that's true - but, I would reckon the important part (the part you don't want damaged) is the actual part that flares out - the damage I see is on the threaded area and as long as you can fit the bolt in and clamp it all down straight, it should be fine.Linegeist wrote:The problem is, its condition is a bit suspect. If it was "as new" then I'd go to £40 like a shot - but it apparently isn't, so could quite feasibly be knackered on receipt.
I have a perfect 3.5mm one here but would fancy a 4.5mm tool too!

My issue is its 4.5mm. Not very many 4.5mm pipes (certainly not like the numerous 3.5mm ones)
so its not worth a huge amount cos of that really.

On the old CX mailing list many of the scandinavian countries members had made their own flaring tools, i will have a look later see if any of the info still exsists on their site.
Having said that as mentioned about abpprox 70 quid will buy you one from plaedies.

I reckon we'll all soon be at it - making pipes or getting others to do it for us.
At the moment many of the important pipes are available still from Citroen but gradually holes start appearing - like the oddities of one brake pipe being available and not the other side!
Wasn't there some bloke in France selling the whole kits on Ebay? They weren't cheap - €200?- but everything was in there I think to get you merrily piping away.

pliedes aren't selling the tools anymore, I phoned up after one last week and they'd stopped selling them unfortunatly, I found another place on the web that sold the tool for £100 for the 3.5mm but then you had to pay a further £45 for the 4.5mm adapter if you wanted it, same again for the 6.35mm adapter too.
