My '93 TZD Turbo (pic heavy)

Post by TizzyD »

So I have taken my first step into Citroen and BX ownership today, I picked up a nice rouge delage TZD Turbo, it's got T&T until October/November time and overall isn't to bad, It needs some work to get it straight but all in good time, and hopefully it should make it over to the DSM rally in MK at the weekend. Anyway here are some pictures upon collection,

The pictures are very kind to the paintwork, which has seen better days on the bonnet, and front doors, the interior however is near perfect bar the glove box lid half hanging off, no rips or holes in the seats and 95% of the electrics work, here it is now that its home:

Sorry the pictures are so large, that's it so far, I will start a blog page once I start sorting some of the issues out such as wheels trims and bits and bobs inside but I have a shopping list already

Looking good Andrew, and welcome to the crazy world of BXing! :D A very nice and rare colour that. With a bit of TLC it should scrub up right luvlee! A set of TZD wheeltrims would be top of my shopping list.

Welcome aboard the good ship BX Andrew. Lovely looking colour. I suspect Paul will be keen to impart his polishing techniques. I personally think speed lines wil suit it better. Look forward to seeing it in the flesh soon. Mark. :D

Damn that looks great, what a colour! Good work.

Is the insurance ridiculous for it considering your relative youth and the word "turbo"?

Thank you for all the kind comments, I didn't know it was such a rare colour. :)

Insurance isn't too bad all things considered, 2 years NCB at my age is a big help though, I'm paying more than the car maybe worth but it's worth it.

Yes the exhaust is held up with bag ties at the moment, will get some pics tomorrow and fire up a blog, it's booked in to have whole new exhaust system plus some welding, front to back fuel lines and strut return pipes done on Thursday, fingers crossed that I'll get it back in time for Sunday

Heh, all common faults - mine has just had some welding in that n/s/r corner (including exhaust hanger) and fuel lines and strut returns in the last 3 months! Where are you getting it done? Might be a bit tight to get it back Sun, depending on just how much welding, but you might get lucky :)

Is that an original colour at that age? I thought Delage was only Mk1's? The finish looks like a respray? Nice though!

I've seen one or two other Mk 2s in that colour - I think it looks resprayed because the paint needs a good cut?
