Well she now got no more holes than it should, the rear quarter looks great, and im £450 lighter, which is what its costing to have the two A pillars, roof, rear quarters and tailgate painted in two weeks time.

So a bit of tidying up ended up being a complete repaint, 4 new doors, 2 wings, 2 bumpers a rear quarter panel...............

Probably a good thing that you didn't win the Leader. Sounds like you needed it like a hole in the. . . osr rear quarter panel! While 200 quid was certainly a bargain, the purchase price would have amounted to little more than a down payment in the end. Can't wait to see the DTR 8)

Very nice. Could you not have found a more matching fence to photograph it in front of though?

..that_ AND it's rusty! Which leaves you two options; Rust treat, repair and repaint or replace the whole bloody fence!

Well shes now being sanded down ready for paint, I spent a hour or so removing wiper motors, latches, badges etc, the rear 1/4 window has been cut out as its very faded and I have a shiny new one 8) but it will need rust treating before the new is put on. They also let me loose with a grinder to cut off the old bumper bolts that wouldnt budge but knowing my amazingly clumsy nature I got one of the guys to do to save any limbs becoming detached!

Check this out for fading!

Strange things old cars, the other day it blew a couple of fuses (duely replaced) the horn and hazard flashers packed up, and wouldnt work even though the fuses were new. Went back to it today, battery totally dead, and I mean NOTHING! Bugger, swopped the one of the 16TRS and as soon as the terminals were on the hazards started flashing merrily! Switched off ok and have been fine since, and hey presto the horn is back in business (I have a spare now thanks to RXBX).

Try living with an XM. All the leccy windows work, but to quote Mr Morecambe, not necessarily in the right order!! :)
