Rear lamp colours

Hi Guys and Gals,

I'm just wondering about the differing range of tail lights our lovely BX's came equipped with.
I've found a few different pictures but would love to see what others have to add, especially of the green tint and mythical blue tint!

I think the Grey tint that you are referring to is actually Green, it may have faded, hence the greyish look??

They came in the following colours in the following order of exclusivety with the most at the top:

1) Brown smoked
2) Early
3) Green
4) Blue
5) Red

I've seen all of the above, except the Red one's, interesting that you've got a picture of the red tint, it looks a bit smoked from the picture, but will take your word for it though. I've only ever seen one Blue, & it did look superb & matched that particular car really well. I personally light the Green one's which i'm hoping to fit to my TZD Turbo as it has the smoked one's fitted.

you have seen red tint Matthew, my pink car has them!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

This was pre-lamp obsession, haha. I honestly can't remember doc, i may have to take a piccy of them, next time i catch up with you.

I just broke the new one on the dtr trying to get it to "clip" and cracked it again.....arse
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Where were these options listed in period Citroen sales paperwork?

Birotor - i don't believe these were options, these different colours were fitted to different models to suit the paintwork to kinda match??? Thats purely a speculatve guess tbh.

Tim - how on earth have you managed to crack a rear lens, you just gently push them into place, ensure the bottom lugs are in the holes & then push in. I personally put my hand in the boot & ease the metal spring clip a bit so that i don't have to press on the light too hard to get it to fit. Might be worth trying that technique to avoid whats happened.

That they depended on the model and the cars colour certainly fits.. I must have a look at my microfiche spare parts list....
